Rise & Shine

Quite a few bloggers are commenting on the change of season and it seems, like me, many are big fans of Autumn.

It would be easy to say that we've not really had a Summer this year, and there have been many days when that felt like the case. But the heating hasn't been on since some time back in March, fleeces and scarves have become buried in the farthest corner of the wardrobe and so although there's hopefully still a few weeks left to go, there is now a definite feeling of Autumn approaching.

I L-O-V-E love the early morning and rarely set an alarm to rise with the birdies. For me, the approaching season means I can take full advantage of getting out on foot with the dogs to a vantage point that makes the best of the rising sun. And so here was the view at 6.20am.

I should add that it also helps if one of the said dogs wakes you at 5.30am being sick on the carpet.

I love this photo. It's truly stunning--and has such a peaceful feel to it. I never realized you live so close to the water. Now I'm even more envious! : )

Too funny about the dog being sick. Sounds like my kind of alarm clock, LOL.

Oh, and that 'hot dog' photo is a riot. I had it up for days last week but never got around to commenting. Joe walked in and saw it one day and said, "How can the rest of that dog be in that little bucket?" I said that's what I'd been trying to figure out! xo

Thanks FG; as is typical, I took about 15 shots, and it was the last one that was just the ticket -God Bless digital!

The bucket is actually quite big, we use it as a water trough for the horse, it's about 22" across. I bought this one for Newman as after a hot walk he would actually squeeze himself into a regular sized bucket - now that did look stoopid! It's the way he looks as if he's waiting for cocktails and a cigar that always cracks me up.
